Just a couple of years into their existence the two Villa Education Trust Partnership Schools - South Auckland Middle School (SAMS) and Middle School West Auckland (MSWA) are honoured to see two of their students being recognised as scholarship winners at the Prime Minister's Youth Programme.
Journey Maihi of South Auckland Middle School Year 10 2016 received a participation award from the Prime Minister Bill English and Minister for Youth the Honourable Nikki Kaye.
Hennessy Wattie of Middle School West Auckland 2016 received an Outstanding Participant award from the Prime Minster Bill English and Minister for Youth the Honourable Nikki Kaye. In 2017 Hennessy is attending the Villa NCEA Academy in Newmarket.

Both students tell remarkable tales about their progress and Hennessy documented her story in the annual VET Speech Competition late last year.
The schools have grown very quickly with SAMS full (with substantial wait-lists) at 180 and MSWA at 191 and racing towards its full roll of 240. The students are benefiting from and outstanding and high-qualified staff and a number of our teachers are going against the trend and moving into Auckland to work with these West and South Auckland children.
